STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Forward Trevon Brazile, who has a 7-foot, 4-inch wingspan, showed off his rim protection early during No. 21 Arkansas' 88-68 win at Mississippi State on Saturday.
The senior swatted two shots 2 minutes and 4 seconds apart.
Mississippi State pushed the ball in transition and 6-9 forward Achor Achor powerfully drove against Arkansas freshman 6-5 guard Meleek Thomas from the wing. Brazile watched the entire play develop and met Achor in the lane for a first block with 17:58 left in the first half.
Brazile soon swished a 3-pointer and -- as the lone defender in the lane on Mississippi State's next possession -- he blocked a layup attempt by Quincy Ballard with 15:54 left.
Brazile also jumped for a third block two minutes before halftime. Mississippi State 6-5 freshman guard King Grace jabbed from the corner to create separation, but Brazile still got a hand on his 3-point attempt.
Arkansas blocked nine shots in the game. Brazile had four, while freshman Isaiah Sealy had three.
Brazile also became the first Razorback to record 19-plus points, 8-plus rebounds, 4-plus blocks and 4-plus assists in a game since Darnell Robinson in 1996, according to...
