PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Nearly a dozen U.S. cities are welcoming the initial wave of combined stores featuring two once-prominent brands that previously filed for bankruptcy.
Earlier this year, Bed Bath & Beyond announced it was acquiring The Container Store. Both companies filed for bankruptcy in 2023.
The former has been rebounding after Overstock.com bought the Bed Bath & Beyond brand name and relaunched it as an online store and app. Last year, it was announced that physical Bed Bath & Beyond stores would be opening under the Brand House Collective Inc. umbrella. The company made a stir when Executive Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis, also the co-founder and now-retired CEO of Camping World, said Bed Bath & Beyond stores wouldn't open in California.
Multiple California cities are, however, among the newest homes for Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store locations.

The "co-branded" stores are "welcoming customers ... immediately," Beyond said in a Thursday press release. These Bed Bath & Beyond + The Container Store locations are meant to make "a more connected home shopping experience."
