The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is the trade association for firearms, ammunition and other related products and services. Each year, NSSF hosts the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) in Las Vegas.
This year, more than 2,800 exhibitors from around the world showcased products, with more than 54,000 industry professionals in attendance.
SHOT Show brings manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, customers, media and more together to make deals, write orders and share information. Aside from all the happenings on the show floor, NSSF programs and services that help "promote, protect and preserve" the shooting, hunting, and outdoor industry are also highlighted with meetings and gatherings. Some of these include NSSF's government relations efforts, like Real Solutions. Safer Communities, Project ChildSafe, Operation Secure Store and Don't Lie for the Other Guy.
Learning about these programs and engaging with others who attend the gatherings to become more informed about the humanistic side of the shooting sports industry is a big reason why I like to attend SHOT Show. This year, the meetings and gatherings did not disappoint.
