With March Madness officially underway, many of the programs that failed to make the big dance this season are searching for new head coaches who they hope will lead them back to the tournament in the near future. The University of Arkansas Little Rock is among this group after they fired longtime head coach Darrell Walker following a disappointing 12-20 campaign. Darell had been the head man for the Trojans for 8 seasons, but the team never reached the NCAA Tournament during his tenure. The Spartans have been searching for their next coach over the past couple of weeks, and it looks like they are closing in on their guy, with ESPN insider Pete Thamel reporting on Thursday that the Spartans are expected to hire former Kentucky standout and longtime head coach Travis Ford to take the reins in Little Rock. Ford was a star point guard for the Kentucky Wildcats in the early 90s, earning All-SEC first-team honors during his junior and senior seasons. After a short stint in the NBA, Ford made the jump to coaching and found great success.
