Erik Dees, a partner at Fayetteville-based Milestone Leadership, recently released "Keeper of the Culture," a new book that challenges leaders to reconsider how they define success and what makes strong results sustainable over time.
Dees works with executives, leadership teams and organizations to strengthen leadership, culture and organizational effectiveness. Before joining Milestone, he spent 18 years with Walmart in logistics and corporate leadership development and later served in the nonprofit sector as an executive pastor. He teaches as an adjunct professor and earned a doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of San Diego.
He's also a guest writer for the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal.
According to a news release, Dees' new book shows how leaders can build organizations where strong performance and a healthy, values-driven culture reinforce one another.
"Most organizations have values," Dees said. "The more important question is whether people actually experience them. What leaders reward, tolerate, prioritize and model ultimately says far more about an organization's culture than the words hanging on a wall."
