An O'Fallon woman and her passenger died in a single-car crash on Interstate 255 in St. Clair County Saturday night, according to Illinois State Police.
St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said the two were pronounced dead at the scene at 8:21 p.m. He identified them as Barbara A. Armbruster, 77, of O'Fallon, and Joshua S. Duryea, 78, of Batesville, Arkansas.
According to an Illinois State Police news release, Armbruster was driving a white SUV northbound when she lost control. The vehicle rolled over multiple times before landing in a ditch on the right side of the highway.
The crash happened near milepost 11 at Cahokia Heights at about 7:10 p.m., state police said.
