An initiative aimed at helping Arkansans in crisis connect with service providers best suited to address their needs received $1 million from the nonprofit For Others, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Thursday.
Sanders launched the faith-based pilot program, called the 10:33 Initiative, in October alongside the White House Faith Office. The program, according to a Thursday news release from Sanders' office, seeks "to lift Arkansans out of poverty and improve their self-sufficiency."
"For Others' grant will expand CarePortal in Arkansas, a technology platform that enables churches to respond to real-time needs to provide practical, individualized support to children and families in need," the news release states. "Additionally, their grant will help grow the No Wrong Door model across the state, making access to coordinated support for families and individuals easier, regardless of where they seek help first."
