Washington and Benton counties have seen very little early voter turnout ahead of Tuesday's runoff election, according to figures released by each county's election officials. Early voting began March 24. Washington County recorded 233 votes cast Monday, totaling 1,292 votes total across the five days of early voting, according the county's Election Commission. Benton County saw 308 votes cast Monday, almost double the turnout seen in the runoff election's previous early voting days, according to that county's Election Commission. The county has received 870 votes in total since early voting began. This makes up 0.45% of the county's registered voters, according to the commission. Washington County voters' ballot includes the Republican Party primary runoff between incumbent County Judge Patrick Deakins and challenger Tim Shepard. Shepard led the voting in the March 3 primary with 8,022 votes, or 48%. Deakins received 5,200 votes, or 31%. Mark Scalise received 3,324 votes, or 20%, so his name does not appear on the runoff ballot. The winner will face Democrat Dana Deree in the November...
