Arkansas baseball outfielder Maika Niu signs free agent contract with New York Yankees | Whole Hog Sports
Former Arkansas outfielder Maika Niu agreed to a free agent contract with the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Niu was not selected in the 20-round MLB Draft last weekend. He spent the 2025 season with the Razorbacks after he transferred from Marshall. At Arkansas, Niu played in 61 games and started 56, primarily in center field. He previously played shortstop in his only season at Marshall and the two seasons before that at New Orleans. Niu batted .274 with 10 home runs, 14 doubles and 51 RBI with the Razorbacks.
