Trump announces $700 million investment in coal plants and California export terminal

President Trump announced a $700 million investment in coal plants and a new export terminal in California. The funding includes $75 million for a coal export terminal in Oakland, $425 million to support 13 existing plants across 10 states, and $200 million in grants for two new coal plants in Alaska and West Virginia and to restart a coal plant in Maryland. Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to distribute the funds. The administration says the initiative will create jobs and save consumers $50 billion in energy costs.
