While Ava Kuszak played the hero for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Thursday night's 5-3 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Women's College World Series, she was far from the star of the show. Kuszak hit a two-run, walk-off home run in the tenth inning to give the Huskers their first WCWS win since 2002 and only their second walk-off victory in WCWS. However, anybody who watched the game knows that the real star was Susan Eads. Eads does not play for Nebraska. She also does not play for the Razorbacks.

Jerry Jones, owner of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, was a starting offensive lineman for the 1964 Arkansas Razorbacks, who went 11-0 and were named national champions by the Football Writers Association of America. Jones graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1965 with a business degree and earned a master's in 1970. He sold insurance during college and later found success in oil and gas. In 1989, he bought the Cowboys for over $160 million, turning around a team losing $1 million per month. The franchise has won three Super Bowls under his leadership and is valued at $13 billion.

Jerral Wayne "Jerry" Jones grew up listening to Arkansas Razorbacks athletics on the radio, which formed his desire to be part of the University of Arkansas football team. Jones, 83, was born in Los Angeles and his family moved to North Little Rock when he was 3 years old. He became a starting offensive lineman for the 1964 Razorbacks, who posted an 11-0 record and were named national champions by the Football Writers Association of America. "The leadership just emanates from there," teammate Ken Hatfield said of Jones and his position.

The No. 6 Arkansas women's golf team will open NCAA play Monday in the Simpsonville Regional at the University of Louisville Golf Club. The Razorbacks are the No. 1 seed in the regional. The top five teams from the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, on May 22-25. Defending NCAA individual champion Maria Jose Marin will begin defense of her title in leading the Arkansas squad.

Former Kentucky guard DJ Wagner is planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after two seasons at Arkansas. Wagner played the fewest minutes (23.6 minutes per game) of his three-year career this season for the Razorbacks, averaging career lows in points (7.7 ppg) and assists (2.4 apg).

BATON ROUGE - The frustration in conference play for LSU men's basketball continues as the Tigers fell to No. 21 Arkansas 91-62. LSU is now 2-9 in SEC play. Matt McMahon's team has lost five of their last six games against SEC teams. LSU's last three SEC losses have come by double digits. Marquel Sutton led LSU with 18 points on the evening with six rebounds. On the other end, Darius Acuff Jr.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.(AP) -- Clara Strack had 33 points and 15 rebounds, Teonni Key also had a double-double, and No. 18 Kentucky defeated Arkansas 93-73 on Sunday to snap a three-game losing streak. Kentucky led by only six points at halftime and it was 60-49 heading to the fourth quarter. The Wildcats outscored the Razorbacks 33-24 in the fourth. The Wildcats' lead was 66-53 early in the fourth before they went on a 13-0 run in less than 2 1/2 minutes, extending their lead to 79-53.

The Kentucky Wildcats look to rebound from a big loss when they battle the 15th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday night. Kentucky is coming off an 80-55 loss at Vanderbilt on Tuesday, while Arkansas downed Oklahoma 83-79 that same night. The Wildcats (14-7, 5-3 SEC), who are tied for fourth in the conference, are 2-3 on the road this season. The Razorbacks (18-3, 6-2 SEC), who are tied for second in the league, are 13-0 on their home floor.

FAYETTEVILLE -- Oregon defensive lineman Xadavien Sims committed to Arkansas on Friday after starting an official visit with the Razorbacks on Thursday. Sims, 6-3 and 305 pounds, received his first scholarship offer in high school from former Arkansas coach Sam Pittman as a sophomore at Denison, Texas. He had 1 tackle this season as a redshirt freshman for the Ducks. He appeared in two games in 2024. He was consensus 4-star recruit out of Durant High School in Oklahoma in the class of 2024.
