Arkansas first baseman Carter Rutenbar passed concussion protocol, but the severity of his nose injury was unclear following the Razorbacks' 12-2 victory over Oklahoma on Friday. Rutenbar dove to field a grounder off the bat of Dasan Harris that bounced and bloodied his nose in the second inning. Harris' RBI hit gave the Sooners a 1-0 lead. Rutenbar was tended to on the field by trainer Corey Wood and orthopedic doctor Brad Reeves, who held a towel to his nose, before he was taken out of the game and replaced by fellow freshman Alexander Peck. "They're going to look at his nose again," Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. "I'm not going to say it's broken, but it could be." Because he passed concussion protocol, Rutenbar could have returned to the game. "He stood in the tunnel with his helmet on basically the whole game right there," Van Horn said. "It was like, 'Hey, I'm right here. You see me? I want to go hit.' We'll get him looked at here real good and figure out if we're going to play him tomorrow or not." Peck went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI in place of Rutenbar and hit his first career home run.
