The No. 6 Arkansas women's golf team will open NCAA play Monday in the Simpsonville Regional at the University of Louisville Golf Club. The Razorbacks are the No. 1 seed in the regional. The top five teams from the six regionals will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, on May 22-25. Defending NCAA individual champion Maria Jose Marin will begin defense of her title in leading the Arkansas squad. Marin, who earlier this spring won the Augusta National Women's Amateur, was the third Razorback women's golfer to win the NCAA individual title last year, joining Stacy Lewis in 2007 and Maria Fassi in 2019. Reagan Zibilski, who tied for 10th at the ANWA, Sara Brentcheneff, Swetha Sathish, and Abbey Schutte will round out the Arkansas team, and Natalie Blonien will be a substitute. Other teams in the Simpsonville Regional include: No. 7 Auburn, No. 18 Iowa State, No. 19 Ole Miss, No. 30 Houston, No. 37 Virginia Tech, No. 28 Kent State, No. 45 Indiana, Charleston, Xavier, Western Kentucky, and Murray State. This marks the 23rd straight year the Arkansas women's golf team has earned a regional tournament berth and the 24th overall....
