Florida's healthy job growth, dining opportunities and abundance of young people boost its singles score. With Valentine's Day upon us, a new analysis shows Florida is the best state in the nation when it comes to dating and romance. The analysis by personal financial company WalletHub found that Florida is the top state in the country for being single. Analysts with WalletHub compared all 50 states in nearly 30 different elements of dating friendliness, including the share of single adults, unemployment rates among singles, and restaurants per capita. Those factors were used to compile a singles score for each state. Florida nabbed the highest score at 66.26. It was ranked second in the U.S. for romance and fun, third for dating opportunities, and 38th in dating economics. Florida's top rank was also attributed in part to restaurants per capita, with the state tying for first. Florida ranks sixth in movie theaters per capita, ninth for online dating opportunities, 17th in crime rate and 22nd in both the percentage of single adults and gender balance of singles.
