Foreign objects described as glass shards, from 1 to 3 centimeters long and 2 to 4 millimeters wide, are the reason for the recall. A previous investigation determined that contaminated carrots used in the dishes were the source of the glass. The Trader Joe's Vegetable Fried Rice was distributed across 43 states: Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
