Walker fan drive collects about 100 fans for local seniors
Community members turned out in force Saturday to support Michael and Chequella Walker's annual fan drive, helping collect about 100 fans for senior citizens in Minden and the surrounding area. The July 4 event, held on Roosevelt Drive, also received monetary donations that organizers said will be used to purchase additional fans before distribution begins this week. "First of all, Chequella and I thank God for giving us the health and strength to be able to help our Minden communities," Michael Walker said.
