Southern Bancorp to change name to Uplift Bank | Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Arkadelphia-based Southern Bancorp, Inc. plans to change its name to Uplift Bank, pending regulatory approval. Southern Bancorp, founded in 1986, is one of the nation's oldest Community Development Financial Institutions. In a news release Thursday, the company said its name change reflects its mission to serve under-resourced communities and ensure access to financial tools.
