ArcBest Corp. (ARCB) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss of $1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier. On a per-share basis, the Fort Smith, Arkansas-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 32 cents per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 27 cents per share. The freight transportation and logistics company posted revenue of $998.8 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts.

North Dakota State added more talent to the defensive backfield as former Notre Dame cornerback Chance Tucker transferred recently. Tucker's representatives, Joseph Timpano and Jon-Michael Salter, broke the news on Sunday. A former three-star recruit from California, Tucker spent the three seasons with the Fighting Irish, and he had three tackles in 14 games. Tucker missed the 2024 season due to an ACL tear, but he came back in 2025 and played in four games before he sustained another knee injury.

Fiocchi USA has scrapped plans to build a $41.5 million munitions facility at the Port of Little Rock that was set to employ 120, the company confirmed to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on Monday. Jason Vanderbrink, chief executive officer and president of Fiocchi's parent company, The Kinetic Group, said in a statement that Fiocchi never broke ground at the Port and is currently evaluating "strategic opportunities" for its 280-acre plot. The company announced the project in 2022, hoping to finish the new primer supply facility by early 2025.

About 50 anti-data center protesters took to the streets outside the federal building in Little Rock on West Capitol Avenue on Wednesday afternoon. The protestors, who are connected to such groups as the Sierra Club and Indivisible, are upset over the perceived lack of information related to the development of a new data center near the Port of Little Rock that has been connected to Google. The federal building was chosen as the protest site because the Little Rock District of the Army Corps of Engineers has its offices there.
