People are still in shock after learning a former Cherokee Nation Supreme Justice died last week. Investigators say Troy Wayne Poteete was shot and killed by his wife, 70-year-old Elizabeth Poteete. The Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office says the FBI is now handling the investigation. Troy Wayne was very involved in the tribe and was a founding member of the Trail of Tears Association. He was also a Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Member for 8 years, and was the director of the Arkansas Riverbed Authority.
