Cavs' Meleek Thomas making name for himself already at NBA Summer League as James Harden remains free agent

Meleek Thomas wasn't taken in the 2026 NBA Draft until the second round, No. 34 overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He's already making it look like the Cavs might've gotten a steal. On Sunday, Thomas had his second high-scoring game of NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, this time dropping 30 points. He looked much like the bucket-getter he was already believed to be when he was at Arkansas. In many ways, this is the kind of player the Cavs needed to find. For all their talent in 2025-26, they didn't necessarily have a guy who could come off the bench and go into attack mode.
