Debt delinquency can lead to fees, lower credit scores and higher interest rates. Americans who fall behind on debt payments can face serious financial consequences, from damaged credit scores to higher interest rates - and new analysis by WalletHub suggests that these challenges are particularly widespread in several Southern states. Using proprietary user data from the first quarter of 2026, WalletHub ranked all 50 states based on two measures: the percentage of individual loans and credit accounts that were delinquent and the share of residents' total loan balances that were past due.

We rented a car at the airport, and then, just like that, began driving eastbound and down back to Georgia on a cross-country journey across the very same terrain we had just flown. Arkansas wing Isaiah Sealy to have surgery after recent injury, John Calipari announces. One member of the Arkansas basketball team will be sidelined for a bit due to a recent injury. Razorbacks head coach John Calipari announced that Isaiah Sealy is dealing with a knee injury. Sealy was injured playing pick-up basketball on Friday, and will need to have surgery. Calipari said Arkansas currently doesn't have a timeline for Sealy's recovery. Sealy is entering his second season playing for Calipari. As a freshman, he appeared in 19 games.

Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Sommelier Insurance Group, extending its operations in Omaha, Nebraska, US, and boosting expertise across several commercial insurance segments. The value of the transaction was not made public. Sommelier Insurance Group was established in September 2020 by Luper Akough and serves clients in the Omaha area. The business focuses on trucking, home healthcare and contractor cover, and sought a partner to support its next phase of expansion.

Fayetteville is considering new regulations for data centers to protect utility customers, water supplies, and local control. Five data center projects have been announced statewide, including AVAIO's $6 billion Pulaski County campus, Google projects in West Memphis and Little Rock, Serverfarm in Clarksville, and an unnamed Conway proposal. Data centers require massive power and water but often produce fewer permanent jobs than manufacturing. Some worry they could increase electric rates; economist Jeremy Horpedahl estimates a 1% to 1.5% total rise.
